Markup policies

Markup policies outline the maximum amount a pharmacy can add to the cost of a drug or ingredient, above the original cost. This amount is usually stated as a percentage of the cost.

Hepatitis C drugs covered by PharmaCare have a 2% markup.

Yukon General

Up to 17.5% for prescription medications and 66% for over-the-counter medications with no markup cap limit; calculated on top of the reimbursable drug cost, which is the lowest of either the maximum allowed drug cost or the actual acquisition cost, as submitted by the pharmacy.
