Downloading version 2022 ICD-10-CA/CCI

Version 2022 is available for download by Core Plan and non–Core Plan clients.

  • Core Plan clients: A 100-user licence is available to Core Plan clients. If you require more than 100 licences, please email help@cihi.ca. ICD-10-CA/CCI with a 100-user licence must be installed on a network or server.
  • Non–Core Plan clients: 1-user and 5-user licences are available to Non–Core Plan clients.

Reminder of Folio Views™ features

This product lists a subset of v2022 ICD-10-CA/CCI codes that are new or have been disabled, compared with v2018. For ICD-10-CA, concept (i.e., condition, sign, symptom or circumstances) movements (i.e., a concept has moved from one code to another) are noted.

Canadian Coding Standards for Version 2022 ICD-10-CA and CCI

What’s new?

For version 2022, several existing coding standards have been amended and new coding standards have been added. There have also been enhancements to the appendices.

The Canadian Coding Standards applies to all data sets submitted to the Discharge Abstract Database (DAD) and the National Ambulatory Care Reporting System (NACRS).

What’s changed?

  • 5 new standards and 1 new appendix
  • 34 amended standards
  • 1 retired standard and 2 retired appendices

Canadian Coding Standards for Version 2022 ICD-10-CA and CCI — Addendum: Pandemics and Epidemics (COVID-19)

Due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, direction related to COVID-19 code assignment will be maintained in an addendum to the Canadian Coding Standards. For direction on COVID-19 code assignment, refer to the Canadian Coding Standards for Version 2022 ICD-10-CA and CCI — Addendum: Pandemics and Epidemics (COVID-19), which can be found in CIHI’s eStore.

Coding Standards Evolution Chronicle

The Coding Standards Evolution Chronicle is a comprehensive listing of the changes to the coding standards from 2001 onward. It shows the history of amendments for each coding standard for each version year, including both the description of the change and the rationale for the change.
